These days, 2 June 2020 is the magic phrase for most Singaporeans these days as this is the day that the Singapore government has fixed for the conclusion of the Circuit Breaker period (albeit the relaxation on social interactions being meted out in two phases). Although hair salons have been open since 12 May 2020, I’d bet that not all of us have had the opportunity to get that much-needed haircut or bring our children (who refuse to sit still) to the salon for a trim.

Even so, please make it a point to bring your child to a hair salon that is close to your residence and avoid extensive travel just for the sake of visiting a preferred salon. Your and your child’s safety must remain paramount. Opt to only bring your child for a haircut if you are unable to perform the haircut yourself and if your child really needs a professional to tame that mane. Do also give the salon a call to make sure that they’ve reopened before making your way down.

Located in Holland Village, Art-Noise is a hair salon which hails from Tokyo, Japan, and is the first Japanese hair salon to open in West Singapore. As you would have rightly noted, Art-Noise is not a salon specially tailored for children’s haircuts and their prices might be slightly steep for those looking for a quick solution to their child’s growing mop of hair. For children below the ages of 12, a haircut (without a shampoo) will cost you S$54 (inclusive of GST). As there is no ranking system for the stylists hired at Art-Noise, there will be no additional charges should you wish to pick the stylist who cuts your child’s hair.

Not just a place where you can introduce your toddler to the wonders of water, BabySPA offers haircuts for your infants between the ages of 1 to 24 months. And for those who’ve got packed schedules, BabySPA also offers home visits provided that an appointment is made one week in advance. However, in view of the present social restrictions accompanying COVID-19, do give BabySPA a call for their updated position on home visits for baby haircuts.
